Nothing is better than a home cooked meal. The problem is without the right tools it’s extremely difficult to get everything done in a timely manner. There’s all kinds of appliances in the kitchen that can make your life easier. But as my kitchen piles up with useless “unitaskers” I just push them to the back of the cabinet to pull out my trusty commercial food processor. Whether you need to slice and dice, blend, puree, grate or even crush, you can do it all with this one beast. Absolutely none are as versatile or time saving as the ingenious invention of the processor. I can’t count the number of times I’ve zoned out while grating cheese or dicing vegetables for what felt like an eternity. Luckily I somehow I kept all my fingers though! Do the same and check out the list of all star processors below.
What does a commercial food processor do?
What doesn’t it do!? Long story short they process foods for you. It quickly and tirelessly automates tasks for chefs with robotic precision. Tasks like grating cheese, crushing nuts, dicing and chopping veggies, or making a perfect puree without clumps. Instead of taking a few minutes to cut some onions you just push a button, wait 5 seconds and pour out the diced onions without the tears. There are literally hundreds of uses and attachments tailored for most tasks in a kitchen.
Seriously buying a food processor was one of the greatest things I’ve ever done when it came to equiping my kitchen. Not only does it save massive time, but it’s so versatile I can pretty much do anything I need to and adds a professional twist on my culinary exploits. I mean I even make my own peanut butter… And I got to choose how crunchy I want it.
Hamilton Beach Professional Food Processor
If I had to pick one word to describe Hamilton Beach’s Professional Food Processor I’d have to choose “Precision”. The major selling point on this unit is the sheer level of consistent customisation available to cooks. This is accomplished through five attachments, adjustable blade height settings and three speed settings (If you include pulse, which you know I do).
This professional processor is designed specifically to handle most foods from long vegetables to whole fruits. Send them straight to the chopper. All while keeping them from falling or drooping over for a perfect cut. You can always adjust the opening feed to one of three sizes for most kitchen tasks. Seriously check out the specs and watch the video on Amazon, this thing is amazingly accurate.
On top of that it’s rather easy to clean, with almost everything being dishwasher safe, except the base which you need to wipe down. But this means you can easily clean all your blades and spend your time enjoying your meal instead. When you’re done just put everything in the included storage case and if anything happens rest easy because it comes with a 5 year limited warranty.
Breville BFP800XL Sous Chef Food Processor
A unique design that mixes style and function, the BFP800XL is a work of art. This guy roars in at 1200W with a huge 16 cup bowl capacity. Anything you need to do will be satisfied with this one. I mean it comes with 8 different attachment disks including a variable slicing one. From french fries to pea puree it’s got you covered.
This food processor works at any extreme, reviewers rave that even with half and small loads the Sous Chef manages to stay consistent. This may be a run on sentence, but it comes with a julienne disc, a french fry/veggie stick disc, a reversible shredding disk, an adjustable slicer, an emulsifying disc, a micro serrated S blade, a dough blade, and a mini processing blade.
On top of all that it comes with a retractable power cord and as of publishing 3 different color options. Black, Red and Silver so you know it’ll match your kitchen. The only problem is it takes a bit of time to clean up because it’s not dishwasher safe.
Cuisinart FP-14DCN Elite Collection 2.0
Die cast. Enough said. If the Breville roars, this one screeches. In spirit of course, I hear it’s quite quiet for a processor. As one of the more powerful food processors available the Cuisinart FP-14DNC boasts a vicious 1300 Watt motor. The motor itself even comes with a 10 year warranty. Meaning she’s built to last. If anything else goes wrong you’ve got a three year limited warranty to fall back on for the device.
When you need to prepare food this one’s up to the task. It comes with a 0-10mm adjustable stainless steel slicing disk which is pretty sweet if I do say so myself. It also comes with two mix bowls for different loads with a 4 1/2 cup bowl that fits in the main 14 cup one.
When it comes to ease of life it’s riding in the middle. Even though it’s hosting both dishwasher safe parts and retractable cords. Reviews on amazon mention that it sucks to clean, with food getting into areas that are a pain to get at.
